Silver Shroud Star Stitch Scarf

“When evil walks the streets of Boston, one man lurks in the shadows. Looking fabulous in a sheen silver scarf…”

Oh wait, is that not how that goes? 😅

As soon as I saw this Bernat Velvet yarn in that silver tone I knew I was going to turn some into a silver scarf. I mean have you met me? XD

I love this scarf because it’s so soft and heavy, but not in a bad way. It’s really thick and warm, I love wearing it!

Materials

2 skeins Bernat Velvet yarn in Vapor Gray

I/9 (5.5mm) hook

Embroidery scissors

Embroidery needle

Terms (US)

ch – chain

hdc – half double crochet

sc – single crochet

st(s) – stitch(es)

YO – yarn over

Notes

Gauge is not incredibly important, but mine was about 8 “stars” and 10 rows (5 stars) in a 4″ square.

The stars are comprised of two rows; the odd rows are the bottoms of the stars and the even rows that are sc are the tops.

There are photos at the bottom of this post if you need them 🙂

Here are some photos on how to do the star stitch.

These are the stitches you will be pulling loops through.
Yarn over and pull through all loops on hook.
Ch 1 to close the stitch and make the eye of the star.

You want to do the scs in the eye of the star stitch, pictured below.

You can find the eyes if the star stitch by looking for where the stitches are bunched up. Can you spot where the next eye is to the left of my finger?
