Pattern Review: Dragon Tears Fingerless Gloves

This pattern for scaled fingerless gloves, named the Dragon Scales Fingerless Gloves because of the crocodile stitch, is designed by Ashlea Konecny of Heart Hook Home. The instructions are really easy to follow and the gloves work up really quick. If you haven’t tried the crocodile stitch yet this would be a great pattern to get your feet wet! You can use either worsted weight or sport weight yarn, I’ve used both with no issues. It’s really easy to lengthen the arm portion if you want to, plus in the tutorial there are instructions to make the wrist portion smaller for a child (or if you just have teeny tiny wrists like me 😅).

Once you have the pattern memorized (I did by my second glove) you can whip these up so fast! They’re great for selling at craft fairs or if you want to make something quick for Christmas presents, especially if you have a lot to people you make things for.

I’ve made these gloves a few times as orders; one time I even made them super long and wove a drawstring through the end that goes around your arm so they would stay snug! Unfortunately I forgot to take picture of those ones before they went to their new home 🙁
