I’m feeling kinda sunflowery today, so I’m sharing some of my favorite free sunflower patterns I’ve found! All of these patterns are great summertime crochet projects because they are small and don’t take a lot of time to make. I don’t know about you but I’m not a big fan of crocheting big heavy blankets during the summer haha.

So without further ado, here is this week’s Free Feature Friday!

Quarter Sunflower Square by Suvi's Crochet

The original author made this square for a pincushion, but it you went up in both yarn size and hook size you could adapt the pattern to make a pillow. You could also make a bunch of these squares and sew them together to make a blanket!

Amigurumi Happy Sunflower by J. H. Winter

This sunflower gives me a very strong Mario Bros. vibe. Look how happy it is! This sunflower would be a cute little decoration for in a kitchen window!

L.A. Sunflower by Therese Eghult

I love this pattern because it's not what people think a traditional sunflower looks like. The shape and color of the petals is unique, and would make a great finishing touch on a hat or a bag!

Sunflower Granny Square by May Corfield

I feel like if you did the flower in a solid yellow for this granny square it would look more like a sun; so this square is kind of a dual-purpose pattern, if that makes sense haha.
You could join a bunch of these to make a light blanket (I know, I mention not liking to make blankets in the summer and then offer two of these patterns as blanket starters).

April the Sunflower by Knot Bad Ami

If you haven't checked out Vincent's page, you are seriously missing out. He has the cutest amigurumi patterns EVER. I know I already shared an amigurumi sunflower, but I had to feature this one too. I mean look how adorable it is! This pattern definitely needs a pot to stand up in, but it would make a great little decoration as well.
