I have been obsessed with soft, plush yarns lately. Besides the fur yarn from Lion Brand, (which, by the way, oh my goooooooodness) I have also been playing around with velvet yarns. There are a couple of different kinds out there like Lion Brand’s Vel-Luxe and Bernat velvet, and I swear once you start making things with this yarn you can’t stop. I started with making a bomber cardigan and a few velvet scrunchies and it’s continued from there (so far I’ve made a sweater and a crop top that will be coming soon, as well as plenty of scrunchies).

So this week’s Free Feature Friday showcases beautiful patterns with velvet yarn!

Velvet Dream Super Plush Circle Scarf by Em's Fiber Arts

This infinity scarf looks super thick and warm! It seems like it would be a super easy and fast pattern to work up, and I have yet to try the Yarn Bee velvet yarn from Hobby Lobby.

Vel Luxe Throw by Mama in a Stitch

This blanket looks so soft and weighty! The Lion Brand Vel-luxe yarn definitely has some weight to it and I was thinking about how great it would work up as a blanket. I like the pom-poms on the corners of this one, and the texture that half double crocheting in the back loop creates.

Audrey Tunic by Sewrella

The off-the-shoulder look is unique in this tunic pattern, and I love the flare at the bottom of it. I'm definitely going to be making one of these tunics in black velvet!

Velvet Infinity Scarf by Daisy Farm Crafts

I love the stitching on this velvet infinity scarf! This scarf would be really soft and warm like the other one 🙂

Mysa Velvet Sweater by One Dog Woof

This sweater looks so cozy, especially with the cowl neck and the pouch. This pattern has lots of pictures to help along the way.
