Candy Canes

One of my family’s traditions at Christmas is to always have candy canes on the tree. They’ve been kind of integrated into the Christmas decorations, so at one point before my grandfather moved he had some candy canes that were quite old. Like, fifteen years old. It certainly deterred us kids from eating all of them though! 😂

We eat our candy canes in the form of cookies instead, lol.

This week’s Free Feature Friday is all about crochet candy cane patterns.

Peppermint Throw and Pillow by Bendy Carter

I think this is one of the most popular peppermint/candy cane themed crochet pieces! It's a little intimidating because it's a bunch of motifs joined together, and it's considered and advanced pattern, but Mikey at the Crochet Crowd has great video tutorials and tips to make this amazing blanket! And the matching pillow looks good enough to eat!

Candy Cane Scarf by Craftbits

I love the stripes on this scarf! The alternating thin and thick stripes are appealing to me; they're simple but make the scarf unique.

Candy Cane Swirl Beanie by Repeat Crafter Me

This swirl beanie could be made in any color combination, but the red and white look so good here! And you work this beanie in a spiral so there are only two ends to weave in!

Candy Cane Ornament by Yarnspirations

A nice, classic little ornament for your Christmas tree. I love the texture in this 3D candy cane!

Peppermint Coasters by The Purple Poncho

These coasters use a chainloop edging to make that amazing, spiraly border. It's a lot easier than it looks, and there's a video tutorial with the pattern if you need it!
